Since ammonium salts exist, for example NH4Cl, it’s clear that N can in fact form 5 bonds, so why doesn’t NH4OH exist?? If we had a very concentrated ammonia solution in a small bowl for example, shouldn’t NH4OH molecules form (Le Chatelier principle)? I’ve been trying to find a solution to this problem but I can’t find any.
