/sci/ is 'enriching' uranium a meme?
The whole process seems long and stupid.
For light water reactors sure, you need it because of the design but that's stupid.
But if you just use heavy water instead you can run uranium directly from the ground, no fuckery with lethal and expensive HF.
Are we getting scammed or are there actually valid reasons to use light water/graphite/liquid metal reactors over heavy water?
Also why hasn't north korea just built a CANDU by now and started pooping out nukes?
