we're already making random good species go extinct, and were fucking up the climate, so i dont think this would hurt us that badly

i used to think this when I was a kid. iirc the problem is there could be unforeseen environmental consequences. Which would make sense because it seems hard to measure every single impact of something like a mosquito.

Not really. And the few that do eat them, mostly eat them in their larval form and don't eat mosquitos exclusively or even as a large part of their diets.

Not even that, they will simply eat more of other species they normally supplement with mosquitoes. Which is a horrible balance-wrecking catastrophe, of course, because the (male) mosquitos' niche won't be explosively filled by others.
