Hey /sci/!

Can you guys tell me how accurate this chart is? according to it my mother is not my real mother.

She's type A with both her parents being type A as well but my type is B.

If her genotype is AO the you can be type B, your genotype would be BO with the O injerited from your mother

Nope, as I said, both my maternal grandparents are type A... one A- and one A+ which are the bloodtypes amongs my aunts and uncles: some A+ some A-.

I'm type B like my dad but I dont know my paternakl grandparents blood type.

Anon, call me crazy but could it be that the matrix is blank at the bottom so it doesn't replicate redundant information?

If your mother is AA/0A and your father is BB/0B. Then you could be 0B.

What do your grandparents have to do with anything? Your mother is genotype AO, your father has either BB or BO. You inherited the O gene from your mother and the B gene from your father. Then you have blood type B+/- with genotype BO. A and B are both dominant over O.

Like my parents are both blood type A, but I'm blood type O. Both of them are genotype AO and I inherited an O gene from both of them.

Just because your grandparents are both A blood type doesnt mean she didn't inherit an O gene, its recessive.

Now, I don't seem to find if someone has created a diy genotype blood group test. But if it really nags you you can still send a sample to a lab yourself to see if you are BB or 0B(which probably won't be much) or ask your parents and check their polymorphisms against yours for definitive proof.

I tought you only inherited one blood type variation from each parent.

I mean Im pretty sure I have some O type relatives back in my family tree but as far as I'm concerned "your great great great grandmother was type O so your child could be type O even if you and your partner are type A" is not how it works... otherwise that chart woudln't even exist in the first place.

Your grandparents can also be AO/AO or AA/AO. They would phenotypically all be group A ± (Rh is different) and your mother would be AO.

Unless I'm missing something where you clarified it.

I dont know my paternal grandparents type but it's most defenitely not A something, that would complicate things even more!

Im clearly not an expert, otherwise I wouldnt be asking in the first place, but given what I know statistically I should be either type A or type AB not type B...

So to rephrase my question: given that one of my maternal GREAT grandparents were hypothetically type O, B or AB, is that enough for me to be type B? and how exactly did that gene bypass my mother?

A and B are both of same strength. O is weaker, per say.

So both A/A and A/O will be group A.
Likewise for B.
?f A/B, it will be group AB.
?f O/O, group O.

So, your mother could be A/A or A/O. You can't know which with a simple blood group test.

?f she is A/O, she can pass the O to you. ?f your father passes B, you will be group B.

So lets say my maternal grandparents are AA (grandfather) and AO (grandmother, A dominant clearly)

hypothetically my mother could have inherited an A gene from my grandfather and the dormant O gene from my grandmother, with the A gene from my grandfather being dominant.

Is that correct?

If so, thats a strong fucking B on my dads side holy shit! not only did it say fuck 3 out of 4 A genes I wont be mixing with you (to create AB) but I´ll also be riding this ancient as fuck O gene there to stay in power.

God damn!
