Mongols could have saved the Middle East from itself had they not been stopped. Europe would have benefited from Mongol rule just like China did too. We could have been united under Pax Mongolis. If time travel was possible I'd ensure that the Mongols conquer all of Eurasia.

Pretty disappointed so far with covid. Even if humans were decimated down to a few hundred million the species would survive just fine and likely even thrive having a second chance at not fucking up the planet.

Why is it proving to be the opposite with SARS-CoV-2? The issue is that it's transmissible for days prior to developing symptoms, whereas most upper respiratory illnesses are only transmissible for hours to a day before developing symptoms.

Given the way that it quite by accident succeeded in driving Western economies deep into debt and caused social and health problems within Western countries (alcoholism and obesity both went way up) China is liking the results they're seeing.

At first, they were panicking over possible retaliation (which is happening) but now they are ready to double down on the bioweapon deployment approach. They may be getting ready to deploy additional plagues (most likely smallpox, since most people in the world are not vaccinated) in order to trick the West into locking down again to completely destroy our economy.

The U.S. has a small supply of smallpox vaccine meant mostly for troops but China has a much greater supply. They may calculate that they can start proactively vaccinating their people against smallpox and other conditions PRIOR TO a deployment by agents within the United States.

One possible vector that has been discussed in China for doing this would be through THC vape cartridges sold to the U.S.

Between the overreaction to the virus in the West and the nonstop fracturing of society due to identify politics, they surely like their chances of causing the US and other western countries to break apart after some bloody civil wars. Shortages are popping up more and more. They're predicting fuel storages this summer, which will make all other shortages worse while creating a whole host of other ones. Once food shortages start, so does the large scale fighting.
