This is a somewhat popularised misconception based on one case study on an individual savant (i.e. kim peek) who had a 'split brain' from birth, along with a whole bunch of other brain abnormalities. Hard to pinpoint what exactly caused his savantisim.
You are correct that you will have something like "two softwares" but basically you are just splitting your software into two smaller softwares which actually is subpar to having one big software.
I am unsure what it would feel like.
