Tablets for teaching

I'm set to teach a 101 bio course next semester, it's going to happen online an I need to figure out how I'm going to do the presentations. I'm thinking of just a powerpoint slideshow, and then during the lecture drawing onto the slides with some kind of tablet pen. So a lot like the old 'overhead projector transparencies' style of lecture. But what kind what kind of slides, what software, and what kind of tablet?

I'm leaning towards the Wacom Pro, pic related but it's like $400 new which is steep. But on the other hand I'll be using it probably every day, and the little pen holder looks kino as fuck. Other options would be:
>cheaper wacom
>even cheaper chinese tablet
>cheap iPad with apple pen (also $400 range)
>nice iPad with apple pen (>$1000)
>fancy artist wacom (>$1000)

Anyone with ideas/experience?
