>>13068213transfering to an ivy (tier) as an undergrad is harder than going as an undergrad (and way too expensive imo). us kids should just finish undergrad at state school and go for grad (assuming you've got funding, which you should be able to gather)
transferring from oxbridge will be easier than ucl or similar
undergrads are full of "career-type" people who end up working desk jobs at companies because their parents wanted them to.
and another thing, most of those schools undergrads are just funnels to specific companies, lots of times with family connections. just because you make on the ground floor at some firm because your degree doesn't mean you'll excel there. undergrads are about making a *workforce*, and that's about it. the average tenure at google is something like 1.5 years. once you sign that nda, you're not working for anyone else. if you've ever worked for Oracle, you'll never work at PWC. if you've ever worked at the peace corps, you're not working at the company. lots of other things.
so when you line your ducks up in a row, know it's not all about your degree (imo)

>>13068047do enough research and you'll realize every school has it's "thing". Yale like people who do "unique" stuff, isolated, nobody's ever heard of (not necessarily hard, just new). i don't really know about the rest, but mit is probably the hardest, and the rest probably all play some kind of politics
