Is there any reputable academic work on lucid dreaming? All I find are shitty /x/-like facebook post tier guides. My main questions are:
- How far exactly can you control the dream? Are you basically omnipotent within dream-space?
- Is there any downside to training for this?
Because just think about it, if you could dominate this, it's literally the most powerful thing in the universe. You could be a destitute piece of shit living on the street but go to sleep and live entire lives in your dreams every night, since the perception of time in dreams is vastly disconnected from real time. You could fuck your waifu every night or just spend time trying to visualize solutions to problems that you have a hard time solving irl.
Shouldn't everyone be trying to understand and dominate this as much as possible?
