Time's arrow itself and absolutely everything in the past leading up to now proves that the 2nd law holds up after extremely long periods of time. Entropy is such an inescapable fucking reality of our universe that it caused it to spread out faster than the SPEED OF FUCKING LIGHT for a brief period of time in its infancy.
Okay, maybe it's not the only possible end point for our universe but it sure as shit looks likely (personally I think the 3rd dimension will collapse in on itself once energy density becomes low enough allowing for the possibility of complex 2 dimensional systems and thus life, but Boltzmann brains will probably happen before this).
