Judaism, China, India and pretty much the rest of the world outside of sub-saharan Africa have practiced arranged marriages for thousands of years, in contrast to (western) Europe, where arranged marriage has always been vanishingly rare, and the instances where it was practiced were almost exclusively confined to the aristocracy, like 1% of the population. In fact, as far as I can tell, divorce is more of a prominent concept in western Europe than arranged marriage is.
Of course it's easy to eugenically breed a race of intelligent people if your parents make all the decisions, but you end up putting people together who probably don't actually like each other in any way. Judaism is essentially what Europeans hypothetically could have become had arranged marriage became dominant on the continent. Shilling for Jewish people is an implicit promotion of arranged marriages.
