4. You'll do other people a favor. (Level up your empathy and skills to think about and consider others if you wonder why some people are wearing facemasks outside, even at places where it isn't obligated.)
5. You're reminding people that there is still Covid19 going on and that they should watch their steps.
Wearing one doesn't restrict your freedom. If it is uncomfortable, get a different brand. If you hate how it looks, buy one with art on it. Etc.
You catch your breath, your expelled moist, your coughs, your sneezes, etc. You therefore protect others with it, which is its primary function.
Its not dumb to wear one. Its not stupid. It's in fact, them. Don't follow those facemask-less sheep just because 'people didn't do it before' or something. What is generally accepted doesn't mean it's right, correct, etc. Strive for improvement and change.
Anyway, if you hate standing out, I suggest you ignore that. People need to adept or people die. So throw them an F and wear one.
Also, perhaps if facemasks finally become the norm, perhaps then we will never catch a cold again, since most of the time, its due to other people we get it. I don't like getting ill...
