I'm fairly sure a Chinese kid I'm tutoring was eugenically bred for intelligence. I have no idea what his parents do, but they appear to be very wealthy. I think his father is an entrepreneur. Anyway, this kid is five years old but already understands integral and differential calculus. He speaks four languages (Mandarin, English, Cantonese, and Russian) and his English vocabulary is that if a teenager's. I taught him Magic: The Gathering, letting him practice with some of my decks, and after a few sessions he was already beating me two games out of three. I don't understand how it's possible to be this intelligent unless the Chinese government has been trying to repeat its eugenic success with Yao Ming in the domain of smarts. Are we going to see more young super-geniuses out of China? More importantly, how do I steer him in the direction of theoretical physics, where I feel the greatest need for groundbreaking intelligence lies?
