My wifes mom was 61 and she died almost immediately after retiring. She had no major health issues, heart good, etc. went to sleep and never woke up. out of fucking nowhere.
otoh my dad is 66, had a quadruple bypass at like 40 after a major heart attack, stents placed at 62. And -- yep -- while retired - hes still working as an engineering consultant.
Its important to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning when you're that age. my mother in law had no reason to, and that's what she did - she stayed in bed all fuckin day for 2 weeks and then passed. I get it, her kids were all out of the house, everyone had a good job and things were looking great. Basically:
