By the light of the Eclipse!

Any here anons hitherto attest to the ancient arts of navigation? By here ye source describes the discernment of longitude -not by means of a time piece, as so famously awarded in the 1714 Longitude Act, but here almost 120 years prior and indeed but by nothing more than the astrolabe against the eclipse of the moon!

If ye possesseth more lit concerning the affairs of such knowledge, please, duiers of maths and science, ascribe your sources!
