>>13051418Coming from someone with back problems in my youth, rest assured that trying to train a single muscle or group because of its connection to surrounding skeletal structure is pointless for a few reasons. Only a professional has the tools and knowledge to help you if your problem is truly severe, IE caused by an accident or syndrome.
It's likely you have what over half the population has; lethargic sedentary lifestyle, and trying to strengthen some muscles is a very very temporary fix. If you have hip problems, you have mobility problems, and that exacerbates back problems that are common to us all because your muscles in your leg aren't stabilizing your hip properly. If you have a bad chair/posture your back problems will make you not want to do things.
The solution is exercise, years of it, and of the right variety. Personally I ride a bicycle every day and my back muscles from that constant light/moderate movement has re-aligned my back.
Gyms are shit for actual health of your body and joints as a whole, which is why people don't go to gyms to train for sports, they train on a field. A gym membership isn't going to rectify this. Here's a small list of things that will help you actually achieve your goals
Riding a bicycle (not a cycle machine), kayaking/rowing, climbing/pullups calisthenics, running, even yoga.|
Stay away from weights on fixed planes.
If these things cause you pain, push through it unless you're in your 40s or something, eat properly, protein and anti-inflammatory, you need to force yourself into a more active lifestyle, and if you're already active, push to strengthen your back and core naturally/not with weights or machines.
