What does /sci/ think intelligence is?

Is it fundamentally pattern recognition and the ability to extract new information from existing ones?

How does cunning and wits relate to intelligence? Any form of deception requires at least some degree of creativity and creativity is fundamentally deriving new ideas from existing information.
