There are three type of multicellular life:
Animal
Plant
Fungus

Of the three, fungi are by far the least studied. Mycology is about on par with early 1900s botany as far as understanding how everything works goes. There is oodles of meaningful low hanging fruit still to be discovered amongst the fungus.
