What happens to the spike protein once the mRNA from the vaccine causes it to be manufactured? Does it diffuse out of the cell? Does it integrate into the membrane? Does it bind of ACE2 receptors throughout the body?

Essentially. There are proteins called ‘major histocompatibility complex’ class 1 and class 2 which exist on the exterior membrane. The spike protein is presented here and receives exposure to T-helper cells (If I remember correctly), which causes a cascade of immune cell interactions and finally results in antibody production and a memory response.
