Thoughts on a good scope for entry DSO astrophotography? I've been wanting to get into this hobby for a while.
I used to have a Meade LX200 8" that was given to me by my father with a whole slew of eyepieces and filters, but my mother sold it for a few hundred bucks without my consent. It's been so long since then, but I kind of want to get back in.
I need something portable enough that I can fit into a small crossover SUV and cart out somewhere as I'm in a really bad light area (bortle 5) which makes me lean towards SCT like a Meade LX90 8". Alternatively since I really only care about DSO and not planetary imaging (can only care to look at Mars/Jupiter so much), or maybe something like a Meade LX85 Newtonian Reflector 8"
Something under $1500-2k so I can have some money left over for camera equipment and (if it doesn't come with it), a decent equitorial mount
