I was fucked over by my college from AP credits and switched majors about a year in. I wouldn't do env science if I didn't have a CS background, as it provides a good side-skill for other careers if environmental doesn't offer opportunities--- which is a pretty common outcome. Don't fall for any particular degree path thinking it will get you where you want to be, focus on the real and tangible things. Nothing I learned thus far will particularly help me in getting a job, all of my interviews have focused on my last internships rather than classes I take. Anyone spouting a certain degree are correct to an extent, although if an engineering degree makes you a shut-in and unable to live for 4-5 years, it will only take you so far.
