The tectonic plates are pretty terrifying if you think about it. Everything anyone has ever seen and done has happened on this thin layer of rock crust. There are 7 massive plates that cover the earth, at their edges are giant underwater volcanic mountain ranges that are constantly forming new sea floor.
The earth is like a giant growing pumpkin pie. The inner section is dense metal. The middle section is magma and thick rock and the outer layer is a fluffy, light bit of less dense rock on top like whipped cream. But the magma can erupt and split apart whole continents, form huge ocean sea beds and warm the entire ocean causing massive amounts of rain to lower temperatures on land and make glaciers.
Why is it that scientists are obsessed with the idea of the sun being responsible for thousands of mini ice ages? Who has a coherent theory for that? And if we are in a cycle of ice ages, when and how did the Korean strait and the Bering strait recede enough to allow people 12,000 years ago to walk across and enter Japan and North America respectively?
