Learning is supposed to be cumulative you fucking retard. If you're being tested on material from 1st year in your 3rd year, its probably because the 1st year material is relevant to the 1st year material. You should have learned it the first time faggot.

Should have accumulated those credits whilst you could so you were free to flunk a module. But for real, how on earth have you gotten to 3rd year and struggling with 1st year stuff? Your course should have been like a tower, using previous modules / courses as foundations for the next, surely?

Also, depending on you as a person, drinking shit-loads of coffee and energy drinks and just cramming as much into your short term memory before the exam might be a viable strategy if you don't wish to retain that information after you fall asleep

in a UK university so we don't have that option. it's required to be able to pass. I panicked when I created this thread but I've been working for 8 hours now and still going so there's hope. also planned out an exam strategy so I don't panic when I open the paper. thank you all

If your third year shit isn't built on first year concepts, then yeah, whoever runs your program is a dumb fucking idiot and you should torch their car.
Some of it will probably come back easily enough, and some you should just triage and not bother answering the questions. I don't know the format of your exam but any good long-answer should let you choose your questions.

I take it you're doing a normal honours course? Because if you're doing a BSc where you'll graduate with hons, you can get away with straight up failing the number of extra credits and still get your degree, you just lose the "with Honours" in your degree title.
That's one of the reasons I took a final year Maths modules because I knew it didn't matter if I failed it or not, but luckily passed by 1 mark.

I find my shitcramming works best if I cram cram cram then sleep for at least 3 hours then go over notes again before the thing, I've only had to do that a few times but the times that I've had that pre-test nap vs when I haven't has made a big difference, at least from my own stress level perspective. Other people may end up deleting all the stuff they just tried to study though so be careful I guess

Huh, interesting. When I was doing it in uni, I'd be too stressed to sleep, so just found myself being more productive by cramming until the very last second, doing the exam (on an unhealthy level of caffeine at that point), then going home and basically dying for 12 hours. Worked wonders!
