My shame, if not a secret exactly, is that I wasted my young years not understanding that applied mathematics was the mathematics I was good at, instead trying and failing to be a Perelman-tier pure mathematician, and just falling into being a basic bitch computer programmer code monkey.

Had I actually applied myself in highschool, instead of getting constantly drunk and slashing cheating ex's tires, I could've easily gotten a 4.0 and gone to any college I wanted.

Instead, I graduated with a 3.6 and had legal troubles for years that completely threw me off my trajectory. Now 24, and back in community college (online bcuz c19) after fucking around for a few years.
