You can do it via sequencing of infected samples and then removing all host DNA as a start, then cross referencing with other infected people to generate a statistically significant alignment to generate the consensus sequence. Covid has been isolated and looked at using a variety of tools already, disputing it just makes you more obviously a shill like >>13033237

Most gene sequencing as a whole isn't done with whole chromosomes, like with Sanger sequencing. Next gen sequencing only takes fragments to begin with, it's not like this is all that much more complicated.
