>talking to fresh phds and juniors on zoom conferences
>every single one of them has either taken their laptop somewhere with a bookshelf backdrop or is in their "home" library
What pretentious faggotry is this.... and who under 40 even uses physical books? I have 1k + textbooks on my single kindle
>watching video conference with tier one scientists h index +100 , ivy tier, multiple textbooks, 100s of papers 7 figure salaries
>they all have the exact same setup with a view of textbooks in the backdrop
Ok what gives... how is this not unbelievably cringe. And why are people with two standford PHD's and hundreds of publications and 10 year + professorships seemingly desperate to convey the image of "scholarly academic"
These guys are also in a highly technical field (neurosci/AI).... which has very little to do with textbooks and more to do with coding. I'm sure they also exclusively read from computer screens too.
