So we had the original Wuhan strain. Now there is also the strain first found in England, the one from South Africa, and also one from Brazil. In 1.5 years the virus has mutated at least three times.

Thos source claims there are eight strains, but is unclear on whether those are mutation of COVID19 or are total coronavirus strains including those from before 2019.

How many times has COVID19 mutated, really? They're saying that vaccines are not nearly as effective against newer strains than they are on the original 2019 strain. How can we get ahead of the mutation curve?
