Whatever I do in life as a career I want it to be related to some sort of biology, yet I get easily freaked out by so many things in nature like bugs, I.E. house centipedes, silverfish, roaches, not ants, but pillbugs, etc. I also get freaked out by the way things look, like brain coral, cells, some plankton, viruses, bacteria, and pollen look detailed under a microscope, I could go on. And by freaked out I mean my brain gets hyperactive, I start scratching myself, feel the need to wash my hands, and whatever it is I see stays in the back of my mind until I watch something I like for a while or get distracted. I’d say that takes around half an hour. Yet here I am wanting to go into this field for the rest of my life, where I imagine this type of stuff is brought up often, what am I supposed to do? Is there a way to get over this? I imagined that once I started studying this stuff in college I’d eventually get over it but now I’m having doubts as to whether or not this is what I want to do, or if that’s what will happen.
