>>13023695The fucking tactile feeling of using a calculator has become so familiar to me after all these years taking math and science classes that it's easier and faster for me to do math on my beaten to hell TI-84 CE than it is to do it on my phone or laptop. Calculators are also built for convenience, and have nice features like being able to use parentheses to multiply shit and being able to store a bunch of formulas in the programs section for exams if you have one that'll let you code monkey. Seriously, fuck having to memorize a lot of that bullshit when it's never ever going to come in handy for my degree.
Oh yeah, and you can use them on tests unlike phones.
tl;dr convenience and familiarity. I don't know a lot about the newer models but I highly highly doubt any of them have more processing power than the newest phones and you can even emulate TI-84s on your phone now.
