There's a few ways to calculate these but most efficient is subjective. Using a computer, I'd probably just use repeated squaring. That is, a^b = (a^2)^(b/2).

By hand, abuse the fact that for a group of order n, everything to the power of n is the identity. So with respect to mod p for p a prime, the group order is always p - 1. For example, 7^(11-1) = 1 mod 11, thus 7^112 = 7^110*7^2 = 7^2 = 5 mod 11.

i found a easy way using fermats little theorem

you just know that x^p-1 = 1 mod n
so you can take a big part of it ak make it 1
