I'm interested in how to make people care more deeply about something. Like, does giving them power over/share in that thing change anything? These sort of theories.

Is there a specific name for what I'm looking for?

The deepest urge for all of existence is trying to know why "it " exists i.e.prospecting itself . Besides psychology, you might be interested in the writings around organizational behaviour and authority. How do you think of something like the Milgram Experiment, where people were able to do things they didn't personally want to do but did anyways because of authority.
You might also be interested in David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs. I know it's a pretty casual read, but it has good notes. Might help you map the territory of why people feel compelled to do things (again, within organizational contexts).
