A- is an excellent grade, I got a B+ in Math Stats. However that was because the professor was a nut and had us doing Rao-Blackwellization and other material from Casella and Berger which is fucking grad level. Math grades are very highly dependent on the professor and also involve a greater degree of luck/insight than other classes.

same here. Something about activity/doing things just charges the human brain. We literally biologically react to being social and one of the hallmarks of dementia/dying younger is "not having a social support system".
In college, I partied every goddamn weekend and got A's throughout. The few semesters I didn't party I did worse; the motivation to work/study or just do anything wasn't there, distraction was higher; it's like when you workout, you'd think you'd have less energy, but you actually gain a hell of a lot more energy/motivation/resolve after exercising. All about the physiological changes in response to external stimuli. Socializing is necessary to be a smarter, more successful person.

to add to what this anon said, ..., life is also not a sequence of math exams, and that's sort of the beauty of it, that you have the freedom to find your own success, and even define it on your own terms if you wish, you don't have to best the highest IQ guy at a probability exam to be successful in life, and there's no reason this should bother you any more than the fact that you'll never be the fastest 100m sprinter in the world or any such other metric

In fact in the higher leagues the distribution gets so tense between each score that it becomes meaningless.
That's my hypothesis and NO it's not my cope I get A's on my exams without studying (usually) IF it involved subjects requiring cognitive abilities.
