>>13012751I would agree it's very frustrating that most students aren't well versed in in things that aren't a intermediate math like calculus is, but again it's the lack of understanding rather than the repetition of doing something. Repetition may reinforce understanding, but I feel that the confusion that repetition is understand is a gross misinterpretation that "private tutoring" and public education has.
From my own experience going to school and being a math tutor for my local uni I can tell you how frustrating it is that many people I tutor think that repetition is understanding. For instance, 99% of the engineering undergrads I tutor don't know what the fuck a matrix is, even though matrices are basic algebra. Understanding then repetition asks questions; repetition then understanding breeds complacency.
That's why Kumon is a scam.
