Whats the point in academia, citations and publications when a 16 year old girl showing her breasts on the internet will get billions of lifetime views and earn her hundreds of thousands of dollars whilst your publications on nlp and medical records that save millions of lives will get 3-4 reads a year and most of those will be by accident and you probably still won't get a faculty position?

Even if you did somehow get noticed in the sea of academics and publications a guy on youtube summarising your paper or a tabloid news article will get all the views/reads and money from it.

Then if you're white or male all of the credit will be assigned post hoc to the nearest minority or female in your proximity
