>>13006078In philosophy rationalism is the view that knowledge is created by reasoning, while empiricism is the view that knowledge is created by interacting and observing the world. One example of rationalist view is that of Plato in which ideas and knowledge of forms are already present in your mind, and this is why you can discover this knowledge by pure reasoning, while Aristotle, an example of empiricist, saw the mind as "blank slate" which is filled with ideas as you experience the world. So blank slatism is kinda linked to empiricism while the view that we have innate knowledge, experience of a past life or whatever, is linked to rationalism.
In a way the theory of evolution and evopsy can be seen as being in agreement with Plato's rationalism because the evolution of the human brain is itself a learning algorithm which probably lead to our brain having innate ideas and concept.
