If your planet somehow stopped rotating : one side would roast, the other side would freeze. We could be surviving by living on the terminator, but having such temperatures extremes is bound to fuck up weather patterns.
If we orbited mutiple stars in a configuration where Earth would always be 100% lit, complex lifeforms wouldn't last long..

Happens ALL the time in extreme northern and southern areas. Every year in Alaska the sun never sets for a while.
