It’s pretty obvious that the world is not on track to reach a 1.5 degree world and probably not even a 2 degree world. This is because of China’s sluggish reduction in fossil fuel consumption, the United State’s Schizophrenic policy of changing its plans every 4-8 years, and India keeps building coal plants. With current policies in place we are projected to be 3 degrees warmer by the end of the century. (https://climateactiontracker.org/) It really seems like we have to start investing in geoengineering studies to see if aerosol injections work, what the side effects of it are, if it’s economically feasible, and if it will lead to conflict. So far no actual studies have been done of sending aerosols into the atmosphere. There was going to be one in Norway this year but the native people struck it down because it “interfered with the cycles of Mother Earth.” We don’t have time to fuck around when it comes to this. What are your guys opinion on geoengineering? What do you think of the standard “doomer” talking points about peak oil and climate changing ending civilization? Is it bullshit or is it fact?
