Do Physics graduate admissions committee actually give a fuck about your age when selecting candidates? Besides obvious things such as LoR, GRE, courses taken and GPA, etc.

I ask because I'm currently an undergrad in Physics (3rd year), but I already have a BSc in Sociology (that's right). I have research experiency (REU) and am currently taking grad courses both in Physics and Math.

The more I look at grad students websites from the US and UK, the less I think I have a chance of being admitted, as my path is very peculiar and windy (who the fuck goes from sociology to physics?) and I'm also older (will start PhD at the same age most people are finishing).

Advices?
