>>13008660It's just not really my thing. The theoretical portions for the classes I've taken have either been uninspiring (algorithms, but apparently the prof was bad when I took it), much too applied and out of my field of interest (how circuits work; steps a program takes when compiling; etc), or much too simple (math concepts covered in my major classes).
The practical portions I've found have (mostly) been slogs to put my thinking into writing or hours of staring at code not knowing what's wrong with it. There have been some fun assignments though, and it's very satisfying to see code you wrote solve an interesting problem.
The grading schemes are always set up to combat plagiarism, but in the end they fuck me over since I'm fine at coding but not great at CS quizzes.
I started the minor thinking it would get me a job, and maybe it will (it's made me much better at programming), but there are so many people who are doing a major in CS who are actually invested in the material that I doubt a minor will mean anything.
Very anecdotal, but I don't know a single math major (doing a comp minor) who is enjoying it or wants to continue. I do know many comp majors who love their classes though.
Why, are you planning on going into comp or are you just curious? If you're interested in it then go ahead -- from what I can tell lots of comp majors are happy. If you have any more questions feel free to ask

Hope you're enjoying it though, even if it isn't my kinda city
