Are medical reversals a conspiracy theory? I have recently heard people arguing that "medical reversals" don't actually happen, or that they can't happen anymore do to modern social media and stricter FDA regulations (or the equivalent of the FDA in whatever country you live in).

I don't bring this up in connection with COVID vaccines or anything like that, so

I'm asking about medical reversals in general. Do you think they are a legitimate scientific concern and something that researchers should take into account, or do you think doing so could be harmful to public health and promote distrust in medical science?
