My colleagues have been caught plagiarizing from previous generations of students. My professor actually caught it with Turnitin (I think) and showed them the papers they've copy-pasted from with the year they were written together with the name of the authors who were previous students (at least 6-7 years older). They were publicly shamed in the middle of the lab and given 0s.

Nothing on a bigger scale than this.

Copy-pasting is the dumbest shit you could possibly do. The only time I've seen hardcore plagiarism like that is when someone uses an essay writing service, and the paper/report gets given to multiple people kek

I suppose there was one time but I didn't get in trouble for it.
Basically a physics lab handout had a table you were supposed to use, so I just copy and pasted it into my report.
I don't mean any data, I'm talking about a template with empty boxes. Apparently the instructor wanted us to recreate the table by ourselves. Got some points taken off and a warning, but that was it.
