holy fuck just completely got rekt by this midterm on fucking schizo vague bullshit like lim sup , subsequences monotone convergence. like wtf is this shit fuck the real numbers,

the LEAST UPPER BOUND of what i probably scored on that shit is prob 25/100 .

what now ??? should i drop out and peruse a different degree than pure math ????

Can’t you just drop or withdraw from the class? Worst case scenario is you retake it next semester, submit a grade deletion, then it’ll be like nothing happened.

Most universities have a policy that you can retake a class, fill out some paperwork, then have the previous grade deleted off the transcript in favor of the new one.

Lucky. Never heard of such a thing, my school keeps grades from all attempts. You can only withdraw for the first few weeks of the course if you want nothing on your transcript. Once it's complete it's permanent.
Didn't know most universities allowed such things.

Apparently most universities let you erase previous grades, so how do I know you didn't take it 5 times and got that on the last attempt?

I'm not OP but I tried this (grade deletion).
But my Uni denied, arguing that my excuses weren't good enough.

I was ill/sick during a exam with high fever (probably COVID but it was unconfirmed)

The Uni rejected it because I didn't go to the doctor.
So I didn't get the sick-note/medical-certificate/aegrotat to prove it.

Having a letter from a doctor makes more sense though. It sounded like it was just automatic for whatever class you wanted to retake.

You are using a lot of excuses, OP. Real Analysis is not even remotely vague.

You have to make a decision now. If you keep insisting that it isn't your fault you failed, then drop out, because you aren't cut out for it anyway.
If you want to stop being a whiny bitch, then retake the class next semester and study properly. Maybe challenge yourself by doing it parallel to your next semester courses.

In Europe only your best grade counts anyway, don't need to fill in any paperwork. No other grades appear on your transcript except your best so you can retake until your brain starts folding properly

We all struggle our first time around Real Analysis, so keep working and make sure you understand all concepts clearly. This is not some shitty engineering calculus class. That said, if you really do dislike the class, maybe analysis is not for you and you may want to look into more "algebraic" subjects further into your mathematical career.
