Consider the fact that if we discount lgbt from the population, there is roughly equal proportion of straight males and females.
This means that the number of partners must be conserved, so there is as many boyfriends as girlfriends are. This means that whenever you see girls having boyfriends with no issue, at the same time those guys who are dating them are having them as girlfriend. Thus, there are two possible scenarios;
1) There is a small pool of "high level" men who comprise most of the dating pool. This is very unlikely, as women dating is supposedly common all through the attractiveness scale, which would mean there are constantly a lot of single women through all the acale whereas the single men are mainly on the bottom and middle of the scale, so this would violate the initial observation of women dating more.
2) Women aren't actually having an easier time, and it just happens that the vocal community struggling with dating is single men meanwhile the single women arent causing a fuss.
