Ted K. is right that a technologically centralized society will collapse.

As the world gets more integrated, it gets more fragile. In the past, cultures were farther part. If one collapsed, others might survive and pick up the slack. And so the world as a whole could survive.

Those days are over. There are no more circuit breakers. A crisis anywhere spreads everywhere. A crazy ideology that sparks anywhere spreads everywhere. Be it a world war, a much larger pandemic, or something else, humanity won't survive much longer. You can be sure of that.
