Bone is growing through my gum near my wisdom tooth. Some of it can be broken off when scraped firmly with my fingernail (pic related) but the rest is strongly attached. What could be causing this? Could it be malignant? I haven't had any tooth extractions or operations on my mouth. My dentist seems fine just to drill it down to shape.
