Lets say one were to collect spit sample on cotton swaps and put it in an air tight seal in brown vials how long would that DNA last and how long would one be able to get a proper match?

lets say the same with blood, would blood hold better or would spit be adequite?

what about tears? do they hold any proteins or whatever one would be able to link with a person?
