Honestly, why do people even bother studying traditional science (chemistry, physics, biology) anymore? It's a waste of effort at this point. It would be better for people to contribute to AI/machine learning. Once a sufficiently intelligent AI is made, it will figure out all the physics so that we don't have to. To study physics and chemistry when AGI is less that 5 years away is just a complete waste of effort. How are you going to compete with mass-produced AGIs that will be 100 times more intelligent, creative, and inventive than Isaac Newton?
