and 2#: he's using the statistics of "Average" old people. The average old person alive today isn't particularly healthy. Back then no one gave a shit about their health. They didn't exercise, they ate standard american diet with bacon, eggs, alcohol, soda, cigarettes, cakes, low legumes, low veggies, processed foods, trans fats.

I think you underestimate how many leftwing atheist types this resonates with.
They casually speak of how important it is that old people regularly die so we can have 'progress.'
They also bemoan the climate impact of longer lifespans, not realizing (being brainlets) that the general trend is declining populations as lifespan and healthspan increases. Many countries have declining populations (Japan), or populations that would decline without immigration (Germany).
We would have an easier time promoting SENS to a congregation of Southern Baptists than to these people.
