the calculation is really fucking hard and i agree that theorists are pretty cocky to think theory theoretical error is like a few parts per billion. seriously, Mathematica only checks for math mistakes; it doesn’t check for physics mistakes. i mean, what if they forgot a diagram or screwed up their renormalization scheme.
it will be super embarrassing to the theory crowd if you turn out right. they have the majority of the smartest HEP-th folks worrying about AdS/CFT and meanwhile the folks doing the real physics deemed “too basic and trivial” can’t get their mathematica notebooks straight. would be a big stain on the theory community
