I completely agree OP. I was always held nuclear energy (and by extension nuclear physicists, engineers, etc...) in high regard but then I learned that 'nuclear energy' is just some magic rocks in a pool. I kinda lost respect for the field after that. Honestly have more respect for a roofer or a construction worker or laborer of some kind. Nuclear energy is the biggest incel chud /pol/tard meme going and it's no surprise it's recommended so often here.
